JOB TITLE: Events Student Placement


REPORTS TO: Events Manager and Senior Events Manager

LINE RESPONSIBILITY: Assisting the Events team with delivery across BFC events including London Fashion Week, London Fashion Week Men’s, London Fashion Week Festival and The Fashion Awards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collating the Designer Showrooms furniture/insurance forms for London Fashion Week, London Fashion Week Festival and London Fashion Week Men’s
  • Managing furniture load-in onsite
  • Acting as a point of contact for all onsite designers/visitor enquiries at all BFC events
  • Supporting the Events team with onsite events and collating/managing guest lists
  • Assisting with the fulfilment of goodie bags and helps to source quality/luxury items to be inserted within an agreed deadline
  • Supporting the team in sending all invites for The Fashion Awards
  • Coordinating ticket collections on the evening of The Fashion Awards and act as a point of contact for any questions at the Box Office
  • Creating presentations for internal and external use   
  • General office admin - booking couriers, filing content on the server etc.   

Personal Specification

  • A second year degree student on a relevant fashion/events course seeking a placement for a sandwich year
  • Excellent analytical and organisational skills with an eye for detail
  • Strong communicator, both verbally and in written form  
  • Organised, calm and employs a methodical approach to work in a fast-paced, high- pressure environment 
  • Is solutions focused and manages problems in a positive way
  • Able to prioritise, monitor and track critical paths and meet deadlines
  • A keen interest in fashion events and always up to date with current trends/industry news
  • Well presented, self-motivated and takes initiative   
  • Maintains a positive attitude and develops strong working relationships with colleagues and clients 
  • Computer literate including Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint & Word) and Outlook

Additional Information

  • Job type: Internship to meet university work placement requirements of up to 1 year, commencing June 2017
  • Salary: National Minimum Wage
  • 28 days annual holiday including Bank Holidays
  • Standard company working hours, flexibility required during events, exhibitions, etc.
  • Confirmation of internship subject to successful completion of a 1 month probationary period
