Fashion 2012 Menswear committee

As part of their plans for Fashion 2012 the British Fashion Council (BFC) is pleased to announce that Dylan Jones has been appointed as Chair of the Fashion 2012 Menswear committee.

Dylan's first role in this newly created position will be to form the committee comprising influential figures within the Menswear industry to work on a calendar of events for Fashion 2012. These events will celebrate and showcase the breadth of British Menswear from traditional heritage brands, to avant-garde and emerging talent as well as London as a leading fashion capital. While some events will be created by the BFC, the hope is that individual brands and organisations will develop their own events here in London.

Dylan will be co- hosting an event in Paris, during Men’s Fashion Week, on Sunday 22nd January to announce the first of many exciting new plans for British menswear in London during 2012. He will host the event alongside Chairman of the BFC, Harold Tillman CBE.

The BFC has developed this role to formalise the working party and advisory committee to assist in curating, launching and delivering its ambitious plans for the year. Men’s Day at London Fashion Week has grown with the support of designers, media, retailers, stylists and Topman. This year the BFC aims to grow the profile of British menswear and through this assist the growth in British businesses.

Fashion 2012 is a central platform under which the industry is able to showcase and celebrate British fashion. It will provide a core focus for the industry and a schedule for the major fashion events and activities throughout London’s Olympic year.

Dylan Jones is the Editor of British GQ.
