The Dome Room of the former Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design will become a re-creation of the exquisite Plaza de Garzón in the tiny, semi-ghost town in Uruguay with which the label is eponymous. Alongside the debut AW13 collection is a screening of the atmospheric short film 'La Sombra', which was shot in Garzón. Combining themes of shadow, gauchos and horses, the film transports the viewer to W. H. Hudson’s Purple Land where the label was born.
Garzon’s handmade pieces are hand-dyed in a palette inspired by the Uruguayan countryside – the dusty pink unpaved caminos and old brick red estancias. Combining day and eveningwear, Garzón changes the usual concept of knitwear from casual to something with more drama and flair.
