LONDON show ROOMS took London’s rising stars of British fashion to HONG KONG, supported by Li & Fung Limited, from the 31st October - 1st November, 2011. This new venture to Hong Kong supported the China/Britain Fashion Alliance,
a combined initiative between the BFC, the Beijing International Brand
Management Centre and the China-Britain Business Council to promote
British Fashion in China.
Centrally located at The Space Gallery, 210 Hollywood Road, the showroom showcased a selection of BFC/Vogue Designer
Fashion Fund shortlist designers, Fashion Forward alumni with the
addition of the winners of
British Fashion Awards
Menswear and Accessory
Designers of the Year 2010. The initiative aims to develop
the profile of these designers through introdutions to Chinese media,
creatives and retailers.
LONDON show ROOMS are supported by the
European Regional Development Fund and
UK Trade and Investment (that in London is partially funded by the European Regional Development Fund).
As a BFC Corporate Partner, representatives from
HSBC in Hong Kong
extended their support and mentoring through attending LONDON show ROOMS
in Hong Kong. They met and spoke with the designers to discuss local
markets and to build relationships, which is key as they explore new
markets.
