GENERAL INFORMATION

Headonism is a British Fashion Council initiative curated by Stephen Jones OBE, celebrating the new wave of emerging London milliners. It showcases emerging London milliners within an installation at London Fashion Week. It gives these designers the opportunity to further develop their businesses, as well as exposure amongst both UK and international media and retailers. A panel of judges is selected each season which includes key opinion formers, media, buyers and representatives from the BFC. Those selected will receive sponsorship and mentoring throughout the year with event and pop up shop opportunities.

APPLY FOR HEADONISM 2016 - 2017

Deadline for application forms to be submitted online: Monday 9th May 2016.
Please read the terms of entry and guidance notes carefully.

TERMS OF ENTRY:

  • Innovative millinery designers
  • Applicants should be based in the United Kingdom
  • Applicants should be in business less than six years
  • Applicants should have experience with production and sales
  • Applicants must have a minimum of two stockists

APPLICANTS ARE REQUIRED TO SUBMIT:

  • A full list of UK and international stockists
  • Industry based reference (buyer, journalist, opinion former, significant mentors are relevant referees)
  • Five year plan (maximum 200 words)
  • Business plan (maximum 200 words)
  • Why they would like to be a part of Headonism  
  • Four signature collection images from their previous collection  
  • Equal opportunities section must be completed, but can be anonymous, this will be kept and will not affect the applicants entry
  • If the applicant has been rejected more than three times, they are no longer eligible to apply

GUIDANCE NOTES

  • Once the applicant has completed their application form online, it will be reviewed and they will be notified by email whether their application has been accepted
  • Guidance notes for submitting samples will be included in the application confirmation email. Applicants should not submit samples unless they are requested to

PLEASE NOTE:

  • If applicants are asked to submit samples, they will need to submit up to eight samples, four samples from their autumn/winter collections & four samples from their spring/summer collections that will be considered alongside the application
  • If applicants are in the final short listed group to be interviewed by our selection panel this will take place in mid May 2016
